As UX / UI designer at Euronews, I design the new look and feel of the website. Our main objectives were :

- Change for a more clear and readable website, highlight the content.

- Optimize recirculation , navigation to find infos

- Set up a new flexible system, that we can change depend of the currents events Optimize advertising

Search & analysis

First, I analyzed our performance with our data analyst, did a benchmark about our main competitor and a user testing. This test allows defining improvements we can made. The benchmark help me to see the choices that our competitors made, good pratices, interesting features. For example, I noticed that a lot of them move toward a design with more spaces, marges, bigger images to propose a selected content to the user.

Prototyping

Design of the wireframes, to test different solutions in workshops with other teams (sales, editorial, technical, etc...). We collected their opinions, propositions, feasibility...

Mock up

I built the mock up of the website on Sketch, and created the euronews library

User interface

Conception of the graphic mockup : I choose a refined design (less colors more white, modern, to highlight the brand (we needed to improve the notoriety) and the content. After validation, I wrote the specifications to the developpers, made the feedbacks during the integration, and a survey to the user after the release. It enable to validate our choice or improve the website if needed.

The site was build in Json to be modular instantly according to the demands coming from the editorial or the interessant news for the user.
